- Forsan American School gives admissions priority to:

- The Director of Enrollment Management will set up an appointment for the assessment and accordingly an interview will be determined.
- On the day of the assessment, students in grades 1-12 will take placement tests in English and Math.
- Early Childhood Center applicants, grades Prek 4-K will be required to pass an interview that will assess the child’s social, emotional, physical, language, and cognitive development; some basic literacy, numeracy, and speaking abilities.
- After the placement tests are scored and reviewed, the Director of Enrollment Management will call the parents to arrange an interview with the Head of School, Director of Enrollment Management, and/or designee, provided that the child passed the placement tests.
- The final decision of acceptance is made by the Head of School and Director of Enrollment Management and this will be communicated to parents via a telephone call and an email from the school.
- Forsan American School is unable to fully accommodate students that have severe or complex special educational needs. The school is registered as non-specialist and provides mainstream education. It does not have the facilities or resources to meet the needs of students with special educational needs. Any known special needs must be brought to the attention of the Head of School for further review during the application process.
-
Forsan American School Admissions will be determined by the Head of School and the Director of Enrollment Management based on information obtained with respect to:
- The potential of the applicant to benefit from the educational program available.
- The capacity of the school to meet the educational needs of the student.
- The availability of places (seats). Maximum class size is 25.
- Initial year placement is determined on the basis of age on September 30th, prior schooling, and ability of the student. The decision of Forsan American School in grade placement will be communicated to parents prior to acceptance.
- Forsan American School continually assesses the progression and re-evaluates the development of the student. Continued enrollment at Forsan American School will be based on academic, personal, behavioral, and social/emotional aspects of a student’s school record. Although uncommon, it is possible that FAS will require a student to repeat a grade. FAS does not support accelerating students by skipping grades.
-
Forsan American School reserves the right to deny admission or dismiss a student if:
-
The student’s best interests and needs cannot be met effectively by the school’s programs and services.
-
The student’s behavior is deemed to adversely affect the welfare of the school community.
-
Educational or behavioral information is withheld from the school.

Admission to Forsan American School is subject to a successful placement test and interview.
Forsan American School does not cater to children with severe or complex special educational needs. However, FAS is an inclusive school and, as such, willingly accepts admission applications for children with special education needs whose needs the school can meet, subject to certain conditions.
Applicants may be offered a conditional placement at FAS. This means your child’s application to the school doesn’t satisfy one or more of the admissions criteria. You may be asked to provide:
- An educational psychologist’s report in support of identifying your child’s learning needs.
- A shadow teacher if recommended and approved by the school.
- A review period may be set at which point the student’s progress will be reviewed to establish if FAS is the most suitable school to meet the child’s particular needs.
- If the conditional criteria are not satisfied, FAS retains the right to withdraw the place and ask the parents to seek alternative arrangements for their child’s education.
- Copy of child's birth certificate
- Copy of previous school report if applicable
- Child's personal photo
- Copy of both parents ID
